GIve Them The Opportunity

MOIN UDDIN
Who is there to take the teaching responsibility if a teenager wants to know about sex and tries getting information about it secretly and gets caught and then faces humiliation from his seniors? Who is there to take
up the responsibility about the consequences if a youth tries his best to excel in his career but fails and gets
frustrated and commits suicide? Who is there to provide the youths with the experience of what the big companies these days want while recruiting employees? Who is there to take up the responsibility of the ongoing problems of today’s youth? There are lots of problems that today’s generation are facing but no one is there to take up the responsibility to help them. Most of the people talk about youths, but they never talk about their problems and the solutions to help them deal with them.
I had a friend some years back. We used to be very good friends. He was good in studies. His family life was not sound. There always used to be fights between his mother and father regarding money matters. His father used to work hard but he never saved money, as from his early days he was into drinking and gambling. My friend was frustrated by his family problems.
He started disliking his father’s behavior. He thought of finding a job to earn money so that he could fulfill his
aspirations. For many days he kept on buying newspapers and looked for the vacancies but could not find a job as the qualification which they wanted was higher than what he had. Also the sad part was he lacked working experiences too. He was depressed and started smoking.
He started being friends with others with similar tales. Slowly he was introduced to heroin and other drugs. He started making plans with other friends to loot pedestrians. As bad luck would have it, the first mugging itself became his last. As retaliation the people around hit him with a brick on his head and he died on the spot. This is only just one story. There are many more stories related to the youths. The family members should be aware about what their child is learning from the environment. The home environment should be sound. Schools, teachers, community all play a bigger role in making these youths’ life successful. Every organization has some responsibility towards society. Can’t these organizations create jobs for them. At least they can enroll them as volunteers so that they could learn and gain experiences which could be helpful for them to apply for good jobs.
Let’s think critically, as these youths are the ones who will contribute and give much more to the society if today the concerned parties invest in their well-being.
