Relationship with eye and glasses

Relationship matters. It's a process. Not a onetime shot. Like a seed needs sunlight, water, soil and good weather condition to grow, so does relationship. Good nurture with love, care and protection are the inevitable ingredients for any relationship to grow.

            I've a unique relationship with my spectacles. We've been friends since 2062 B.S. Some eye specialist came at my school. Eye camp was conducted and I was told to read an Alphabet a, b, c...........z. I clearly read the big letters but I felt difficulty in reading the small alphabets. The eye doctor advised me to visit the hospital. I went at Bir Hospital, took ticket and went at the third floor; where the eye department was located. The room was dark. Only a golden light bulb was lit on. The doctor made me put on a different spectacle where a unique kind of glass was kept every time when I found myself unable to read the alphabets clearly.

 Finally I was able to read every letters and doctor congratulated me saying you've to wear a spectacle of -0.25 and referred me to the next section. Again different doctor checked my eye and told me to come after six months. The months passed and I went. At this time my power has been increased to -0.5.Later again after 6 months, I went for my eye check up and it was -1.5. I felt, now every time doctor increases my power. So, I won’t increase the power next time. After 6 months again I went for eye check up, the doctor prescribed me a spectacle of -2. For next two years I Didn't changed my power. I wore a spectacle of -1.5.

            Days passed and I felt difficulty in seeing. So, this time again I went for an eye check up. I'd build rapport with the doctor and we were both comfortable. Before my eye check up I told him my problem and he said" How come you educated people believe in a myth? If you don't wear the spectacles of exact power then your eyes will get more stress and it might increase the power." Finally he put on the unique spectacles on me and started changing glasses each time when I was not able to read the alphabets clearly. Finally I saw all the alphabets clearly and he told me smilingly. Now what’ll you do? Your power has increased to -2.5. If you are afraid then should I prescribe you -2.25? I was shocked and told him to write the exact prescription.

            Had I put on the correct glasses from the time the doctor had examined my eye. I wouldn't have to face any difficulty. My eyes power wouldn't have increased.

            So, it's a lesson for everyone. Doctors are there for your health and advise you the correct prescription. If you've a doubt then you'll face problems. Change your eye glasses if you are not able to see clearly. Now, I've a good relationship with my eye and glasses.
