BARFI REVIEW by Moin Uddin

BARFI! is a memoir. Ilena D’ Cruz recalls her past. I felt like watching an updated version on CHARLIE CHAPLIN movie in a new avatar.

Director Anurag Basu has tried his best to give a Romantic Masala in making BARFI! But he missed in many sequences. Actor Ranbir Kapoor has done his best in it. Priyanka Chopra is good as well. But there is a disappointment from Ileana D’ Cruz. She is beautiful but the director could have used her to her fullest. Story is good. Cinematography is ok. Nepali touch can be felt as Darjeeling has been chosen as a place which is compelling.

The story could have been nicely presented in a simple way but in order to present a Triangle love, Basu had tried but he couldn’t make it compelling.
Character seems unreal. The main actors are of age 26 to 33 but in a movie they are presented old. In order to show them old, the movie loses its charm and it looks unreal.

Songs are good but it will not buzz in your mind when you’ll come out from the theatre. This again is a drawback for a BARFI.

Message of the movie: Fall in love and get mingled on time nor someone else will take your love.

Recommended for the couples ♥ :)
