Heroine review by Moin Uddin

Heroine review by Moin Uddin

This movie is not for everyone and if you are into the category of watching lovey dovey movie than it’s really a tiring movie.

Life is really crazy. And the craziest lives are of the Movie Heroine as they don’t get along with the success. When they want to be in relationship than nobody cares and when they want to make their careers then they don’t want to be in a relationship.

HEROINE is an Indian Film revolving around the life of a once successful actress whose career is on decline. Mahi Khanna( Kareena Kapoor) as a lead actress along with Arjun Rampal ( Aryan Khanna) who wants to get along with Mahi and there are different cast like Randeep Hooda ( Angad Paul) a cricketer,  Ranveer Shoorey ( Tapanda) as a art house movie director also there are Govinda Namdeo( Mahi’s secretary) and Divya Dutt (Mahi’s ruthless business manager). Helen as a senior actress is also in a movie as Shagufta Rizvi and Sahana Goswami as Promita. There are others actors too but they have fewer roles as the movie concentrates only on Mahi.

Director Madhur Bhandarkar who is known for directing real life movies like Chadani Bar, Page 3, and Fashion has made this movie livelier.

STORY:

Mahi is confused regarding her relationship. She wants to get married with Aryan as they both were in love and their movies were hit at that time. Aryan tries to settle down with her but he couldn’t because his final papers of divorce were not signed by his wife. Later Mahi asks for commitment and in a tensed mood Aryan leaves her in the middle of the road from his car. She then goes to a Police station to file a complaint against him but her secretary Rashid Bhai( Govinda Namdeo) doesn’t let her do that.

After some years Pallavi (Divya Dutt) comes to meet Mahi to make her again the star that she used to be. Pallavi consoles and tells Mahi to manipulate Angad to get into a limelight. By using Angad she wants to get signed in a-class movie. She could have been in the limelight  had she slept with the director as the director asks for a night but she diplomatically refuses which cost her a much as the director cuts most of her scenes.
Though she is in love with Angad but she refuse him to get married as she wants her career to shine. In aggression Angad breaks up with Mahi.
To get in a limelight Mahi wants to do a low budget film in which she gets a role of a prostitute but the movies doesn’t get released as the Tapanda( Ranveer Shoorey) had a clash with other movie stakeholders. Mahi gets tensed as she had tried her best since a year and had refused all the ads and A class movies. Again this cost her much as she was not getting any roles in a movie.

Later she meets Aryan. He wants to get along with her and says that he wants to be with her again. Mahi also accepts him. Mahi this time was really insecure and to take her into confidence Aryan tells her that he’ll sign her in an upcoming A class movies in which they can get time to spend together But Aryan’s business partner refuses and want to cast other successful heroine. Media publishes the news regarding it and in anger Mahi leaves. Aryan calls his business partner saying he’ll only work with Mahi but this time it was too late as Mahi didn’t accept any of his calls.

Mahi’s film was about to release but her popularity was fading. She calls her business partner Pallavi and asks her to promote it aggressively within 3 days but she says she can’t then Mahi gives her sex tape with Aryan to Pallavi and she leaks it in the internet. This goes viral and her popularity rises which makes her film successful and again she is back in an industry but this time she is not happy with all that happened. Two years later she is found somewhere else in Europe and lives a normal life.

The movie is good as it has shown the downfall of the reigning star.
Kareena has justified her role. Arjun Rampal is ok. Randeep Hooda is also ok. Though Sahana Goswami is also in a movie with little role which was not necessary. Ranveer Shorey has a little role and he’s performed it well.  Govinda Namdeo as a secretary of kareena was not necessary in the movie. His roles could have been done well by  Divya Dutt had director used his common sense which could have been good and he could have had made her more ruthless than what she has performed in the movie.

Excessive use of Alcohol and cigarettes are shown in the movie which can tempt audiences to opt for it in a real life by watching the movie. It should not have been used to the extent. However it's understandable as the story was based on the Movie star and her daily life.

Screenplay by Anuradha Tewari and Manoj Tyagi is good. Music by Salim –sulaiman is a catchy as it gets gel with the movie and audiences keep murmuring at the end which is a plus point for the movie. MAIN HEROINE HOO .The director Madhur Bhandarkar himself has wrote the movie script. The movie was made on a limited budget of US$ 5.79 million.

Recommended for: The Established/ Struggling/ Up-coming Actors/ Actress/ Models. It can be a caution lesson for them as they can get prepared to handle their glamorous career.

Watch to get a lesson rather than entertainment.

BARFI REVIEW by Moin Uddin

BARFI! is a memoir. Ilena D’ Cruz recalls her past. I felt like watching an updated version on CHARLIE CHAPLIN movie in a new avatar.

Director Anurag Basu has tried his best to give a Romantic Masala in making BARFI! But he missed in many sequences. Actor Ranbir Kapoor has done his best in it. Priyanka Chopra is good as well. But there is a disappointment from Ileana D’ Cruz. She is beautiful but the director could have used her to her fullest. Story is good. Cinematography is ok. Nepali touch can be felt as Darjeeling has been chosen as a place which is compelling.

The story could have been nicely presented in a simple way but in order to present a Triangle love, Basu had tried but he couldn’t make it compelling.
Character seems unreal. The main actors are of age 26 to 33 but in a movie they are presented old. In order to show them old, the movie loses its charm and it looks unreal.

Songs are good but it will not buzz in your mind when you’ll come out from the theatre. This again is a drawback for a BARFI.

Message of the movie: Fall in love and get mingled on time nor someone else will take your love.

Recommended for the couples ♥ :)

Childhood Memories( Poem)

Childhood was the time
When I was really Fine
Friends, were there to chain
We then had danced in the rain
Cycles were our main vehicle
We then used to go and have pickle
Silly fights, arguments were our daily routine
Stealing fruits and having those were really Soothing
I am remembering all those now
Wish I could get my old friends again once... Moin Uddin
