Father's Concern

Father's Concern

There are many insurance companies in the market who are there to bear the financial risk but there aren't any such companies who can bear the risk of human emotion, their feelings, the fear of loss of separation, frustration, dilemma, depression, anxiety, and fear and so on.

Recently, I was going from my home to laminate my exam admit card at a nearby stationery shop as the proprietor is my neighbor and since many ages I go there to photocopy my documents and also to buy newspaper.

After exchanging greetings, he asked me, "Did you fill the form of Lok Sewa", which is termed as a high valuable job in our Nepali society and many folks consider it to be a prestigious as well as secure job, and I said "No, Uncle".

He then advised me and said to fill it next time also to read the books of lok Sewa and to appear for it.

His daughter is also of my age and we were of same education level but of different faculties. And he said that, had the exam commenced on time (before Dashain) she could have appeared for the Lok Sewa.

There are many fathers like him who has a concern for their children's future and most parents especially want their children to earn a respectable income in a prestigious position at a respectable company. These are some expectations of our parents from us but they forget that, can we deliver according to their investment upon us?

Many send their children abroad spending lots of money but their children may not be able to compete or do not understand the teaching methodology, language or culture or even can't adapt to the environment, than who is to bear all those repercussions?

Many suicidal cases are being reported day by day in local as well as in international media.

According to Kelly Burns School of Communication University of Miami "Every 38 seconds someone attempts to commit suicide. It is also the third-leading cause of death among the ages of 15 to 24."

According to The Times Of India "In VADODARA, The scare of examination proved to be too much for a class 11 student, who committed suicide at her residence in Manjalpur. The girl, HimanshiSelar, ended her life by hanging herself in her room. Himanshi was tense about her school examinations that were to begin from Friday. A student of science stream, Himanshi used to study in Maharani School."

Forcing or scolding to do the exact thing could have negative consequences which can leave many unimagined scar for the entire lifetime.

Let children flourish according to their passion and let's create an environment also help them to make a respectable, satisfied and joyous life which can help everyone in the long run.
Indeed, whatever we may do, the only thing that matters is inner satisfaction.
